Tragic Loss of McQueen! Known for his mythical outrageousness shows, here is my all time favourite…

spring/summer 2001 (images from

I posted this blog moments before i had heard the news of the death of Mcqueen, he was my favourite designer and a big inspiration to me and my work, after the loss of his mother a few days previous he took his own life early this morning, such a great talent that will never be forgotten. Here is my favourite collection from the great man that was Alexander McQueen.

From reading the blog 'thefashionspot' someone wrote that the show ran around an hour late, the audience were seated around the glass box in harsh lighting, they couldn’t see inside the box and they were obliged to sit and watch there own reflections and the people around them. “After a while this self scrutiny produced and intense and paranoid self consciousness.

Journalist Sarah Mower described it " A gathering of the prime arbiters of vanity". When the show started McQueen turned the audience into voyeurs, the lighting turned down on them and went on inside the box, which was made of reflective surveillance glass.

The models inside the box couldn’t see the audience but they could see themselves so basically the audience was watching the models watch themselves. For 10 minuets the models preened and strutted while admiring there own reflections”

Amazing ideas every show!

To have been involved in such creative proses and have worked with such an amazing man must have been an amazing job.

As we all know fashion week is coming to town...

Twice a year the Love that is fashion week hits London.

With amazing shows, fab parties and generally gorgeous people running around town.

This year I am lucky enough to be working behind the scenes interning with Vauxhall fashion scout with there Casting and model direction process,

Vauxhall fashion scout "Identifies the most promising new designers and showcases them to an international audience of media and buyers - giving the next generation of talent the opportunity to show during London Fashion Week"

Designers such as William Tempest, David Koma, Avsh Alom Gur, Jens Laugesen & Cooperative Designs where all founded by the scout!

The shows are held in Freemasons' Hall. Located in the heart of Covent Garden just minutes away from other scheduled shows at Somerset House.

After only a few days I have learnt lots from the Internationally renowned show producer John Walford!

And plan on keeping you up to date with the events that pass these next few weeks....

The beginning of the blogger....

Helloo, welcome to my brand new blog!
First things first, I am a dyslexic northerner so don’t take my spelling and punctuation to heart. I have created this blog to share my thoughts, contacts, inspirations and loves; which will hopefully inspire you and make you come back for more!
Sooo, my name is Emily Rajch,
I like to think of myself as half fashion Stylist half Casting Director.
But mainly just general fashion lover.
I will be updating and blogging as much as possible, about different people I meet, jobs I am doing and outfits I am wearing.
So make sure you let me no what you think…
